Did you
know that t-shirts were originally worn as undershirts? European
soldiers wore them
as underwear during WWI
because
that they were made of light cotton
and very comfortable. US soldiers picked up the idea and by WWII,
the
g’old
t-shirt had became the standard under garment for both the US Army
and
Navy.
It was not until 1955 that the t-shirt was accepted as an outer
garment, thanks to the like of James Dean and Marlon Brando, who
wore t-shirts on public television. James Dean wore a t-shirt in
Rebel Without A Cause. Since then, the t-shirt has born a rebellious
reputation and a mean for self branding and creative expression.
Today, t-shirts are used in almost all kind of promotional ideas
ranging from presidential elections to pumpkin pie contests. We certainly
cannot imagine a world without t-shirts.
We have t-shirts (tees)
